AnySIP — Privacy Policy

AnySIP is a SIP softphone for Android. It connects to a SIP server that you choose and configure yourself. This document describes how the AnySIP app handles your information.

1. Who we are

AnySIP is developed and published by AviDev, an independent developer based in Israel. For privacy-related questions you can reach us at the email address listed at the end of this page.

2. Information AnySIP handles

2.1 Account credentials

When you add a SIP account you provide a username, password, and SIP domain. These credentials are stored only on your device, in the app's private data area protected by Android's app sandbox. They are sent over the network only to the SIP server you configured, as part of the SIP REGISTER and INVITE messages. AnySIP does not operate any SIP server and does not receive a copy of your credentials.

2.2 Call history

The app keeps a list of incoming, outgoing, and missed calls on the device so the call log screen can display them. This history is stored locally in the app's database and is never transmitted off the device by AnySIP.

2.3 Call recordings

If you turn on automatic recording, or press the record button during a call, AnySIP saves the audio as a WAV file in the app's private storage together with a small metadata sidecar (caller name, number, direction, duration). Recordings stay on the device. You can play, share, rename, or delete them from the Recordings screen.

2.4 Contacts

With your permission, AnySIP reads your Android contacts to resolve a name and photo for incoming or outgoing numbers. Contact data is read on the fly and is not copied, exported, or uploaded. You can revoke the Contacts permission at any time from Android Settings.

2.5 Diagnostic information

AnySIP writes log lines to the Android system log (logcat) for troubleshooting (call state transitions, registration status, etc.). These logs stay on your device and are not transmitted automatically. If you contact support and share a log file, you are sharing it explicitly.

2.6 Analytics, advertising, tracking

AnySIP does not include third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. We do not profile users, do not sell data, and do not have access to a backend that aggregates information about app usage.

3. Android permissions and why we ask for them

• Microphone — to send your voice during SIP calls.
• Contacts (READ_CONTACTS) — to display contact names and photos for incoming/outgoing numbers. Optional.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to surface incoming-call alerts, ongoing-call status, and missed-call counts.
• Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL) — to keep the SIP registration and active calls running reliably while Android is in low-power mode.
• Full-screen intent (USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT) — to display the incoming-call screen over the lock screen, the same way the system phone app does.
• Internet — to communicate with your SIP server.
• Bluetooth (optional) — to route call audio through a Bluetooth headset.

4. Where call audio goes

During a call, audio packets (RTP) and signaling (SIP) flow between your device and the SIP server / peer you are calling. AnySIP is the client software that handles those packets — it does not relay them through a third party. Call audio is never recorded by us; if you record locally, only the file on your device contains it.

5. Children's privacy

AnySIP is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly process personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe a child has used the app in a way you did not intend, you can wipe local data via Android Settings → Apps → AnySIP → Storage → Clear data.

6. Data retention and deletion

All app data — account credentials, call history, recordings, missed-call counts — lives on your device only. To delete everything: Android Settings → Apps → AnySIP → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. There is no remote copy to request.

7. Security

Credentials are stored in the app's private storage, isolated from other apps by the Android sandbox. SIP/RTP transport security depends on what your SIP provider supports (TLS for signaling, SRTP for media) and what you configure in the app's account screen.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will update the effective date at the top of the page and, where the changes are substantive, surface the update inside the next app version.
